AD1: Project 3

In project 3, students will look back at their isolation structure and further develop it to a Sensory Space (20m3, +- 3 m3), to anticipate and accommodate users’ needs and emotions. How does the user respond to the design? What does it represent when you look at it from a different perspective? Are there any reoccurring elements or strong implementation of elements and principles? Was the anthropometry and ergonomic of the structure incorporated successfully? Students will have to study and explore actual building materials, i.e concrete, timber, steel, and glass and apply it in their design.

Reflection

Project 3 aided me in honing my skills to generate and produce conceptual narratives. It also motivated me to examine objective and subjective aspects in the design process in order to create a space that is both practical and lyrical. I've also learned about material selection and application in connection to the sensory experience of space.
